Any Canadians have one of these you can send me? I can pay you or send a small token of appreciation back to return the nice gesture. My local dealer helped me out with the bushing (that I also lost) that is behind the chainbrake handle and flywheel cover but his parts list didn't show the screw so that was all he could do for me(?)

Top left is where I lost it and moved bottom right up to "limp" with it. They all appear to be the same screw.

There's a spacer in there as well for the brake lever to pivot on. Part #503 77 52-01 The screw should be easy enough to scrounge off a dead saw. I have extras from buying replacement starter assemblies.

I have the bushing (spacer) replaced already. Thanks for having a look.

Everyone knows I'm a stihl man. But I'll scrounge around when I get a chance in my parts and see if I've got one. Won't be until Monday probably, maybe have a chance tomorrow morning. Just about out the door for some festivities tonight and work a 12 tomorrow. Odds are I don't, but worth a look anyways. So if anyone else does, step up!

I followed the links and to ship to Canada was $17.99 U.S.

Not saying to buy and have shipped. :|:

You folks make it hard to lead you to the watering hole with pic and part # to show it.

Broaden the search out big time and with part # posted too.

Saws with same screw he is looking for. ;)

I've searched the part number and I can't find anyone selling one in Canada online. I can start emailing and phoning Canadian dealers, getting several people chasing a single screw or I can ask if any fellow hosers have one they can throw in an envelope and send to me me at little to no cost.

Now I have a copied list of machines that use the screw, with some of them highlighted with a "cool" emoticon, apparently meaning someone likes these particular models. Lucky me.

You guys don't have a hardware store near you? Take another one, match it, and buy a handful?

ya, my thought, too.

Something I learned recently, matching a machine screw. When you go to the bolt sizing/ thread match tool on the wall of the hardware store, it may have had bolts put in and out of it for decades, making things a bit loose. I couldn't figure out if I had metric or standard, because each was a hair loose. The employee there helped me with that info, and I found the correct one.

How can you dealer not have/get the most common screw possible? Have them order you one and be done with it. Ffs

I'll still have a look around on Monday. No guarantees if I have any husky parts/screws lurking around though. That's going back along ways for me since I possessed a husky.

But it is shocking a husky dealer wouldn't have one or be able to get one on a stock order with no shipping expense. I'd have asked my dealer to give their head a shake if they presented me with a shipping charge like that, that is if they didn't want me to do it for them. ;)

Husky, like any other manufacturer, will use standard size hardware. Any bolt or the like can be obtained by using an actual hardware store, not the big box stores. Fastenal, Grainger, and other industrial supply stores can obtain about anything if you don't have an old school store nearby. If in doubt, ask a mechanic buddy where he gets his stuff, they use an actual store almost daily for bolts, etc.

Fastenal by me has had to order Husqy bolts for me before. On older saws I'll drill and re-tap with what I have on hand sometimes.

Guess you'll just have to buy a new saw $729 + $155shp. Maybe post a wanted ad on craigslist or similar? There's got to be people/repair shops or garages with the screw you need.

I couldn't find a top cover screw for my 2188 (I tore off a t25 or 27 bit in it), so I agree Husqvarna screws can be hard to come by.

I was just being lazy, trying to get one here. I'll figure it out.
