Are you counting vegetables as 'carbs' or just talking wheat-y, bread-y stuff, rice-y stuff? Refined, complex carbs and sugars (whiskey counts...knot knocking, just saying)?
If it looks like I asked a question, but put a period, it's probably a question.

Not much in whiskey, no veggies - meat, eggs, cheese.

I don't think veggies are bad for you. I'm no doctor, but I think broccoli is probably full of anti-oxidants and such.

Have you discussed this diet with the oncology team?

Yea, they say no sugar ain't doing anything to starve the cancer. I'm poo-pooing that. Veggies aren't bad for you - just good for cancer fuel.

My folks were talking to a friend that is battling cancer. Chemo and radiation and the like.

The fellow with cancer said that they are monitoring his progress by doing imaging on his chest. They take one image as a base line and then they give him a bunch of sugar water.

Not sure if it was by mouth or IV.

Anyway.....the cancer cells go nuts when the sugar gets to them...makes them stand out on the imaging.

Thats what he said anyway. Must be something to it Butch....as you say.

    Interesting. Learning new stuff.

There is a large spectrum of sugars in vegetables. Seems like leafy greens are low. Potatoes, carrots, and other roots and tubers are higher.

It's not sugar water - it's radiated glucose called a petscan. The cancer lights up eating the radioactive sugar. It seemed to make my chest hurt for several days, like the cancer had had a good meal!
