M and I saw our first one of these down at Bandon, OR last week. Sitting on a small concrete pad in the front yard of an ocean front house...looked like a large lawn ornament :).

Spendy...prices on a two person model start at $13,000.

I thought it was interesting enough to share.

Well, they do say the capsules can offer safe refuge in all sorts of natural disasters...floods, earthquakes, hurricanes or tornados, even fires.

Agreed, Butch.

For that, you might want to fix the capsule into a VERY heavy concrete pad...just my thoughts, dunno what the manufacturer advises :).

Lot of money in this sort of end of world stuff.

I remember going round a girls house and finding a room stocked with cans for the end of days.

It has a parallel with when we take out a perfectly healthy tree with falling distance of a house.

They?re buying peace of mind, no matter how silly. Can?t put a price on that. (Well you can I guess, $13000)

I dunno about a tornado!

There's a tether option. <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/NYffbLkPpn08o" width="480" height="287" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/forever-alone-napoleon-dynamite-NYffbLkPpn08o">via GIPHY</a></p>

What do you do when that gets washed out to sea and is rolling all over and upside down?

Yes, I think so. It could be annoying if the door is under the water when they open it.
Maybe anchored too, with a rope or cable, to allow some movement but not to be washed out to the see.
