So I don?t mind blowing chips into the trailer I have but I don?t like having to make at least 4 trips per job and most importantly load and unload gear from my pickup. Thinking about looking into a chip/dump truck. Not real sure what route I?m going to take but something similar to the one below.

Pros/Cons?

Should I look for a 45-5500 4wd?

That truck would work well. Lots of storage in the man cab, more if you remove the seat and build appropriate shelving. Tight turning radius so they are easy to maneuver. Terrible fuel mileage but if it's rolling then you're making money so it's a trade off. And it's below 26K so you don't need a CDL (unless your chipper is super heavy).

Just be aware it's a used line clearance truck with a paint job. They get beat on hard and run into the ground, then sold off. Places like this make a ton of money buying fleets of used utility trucks, painting them and reselling them. Inspect it very carefully and expect nothing to work unless you verify it.
