The other Parties votes get too diluted and split is part of the problem. Repubs, independants etc have too many in the running. Dems set one or two up.
Also, mail in ballots.
Look at what just happened in LA on a recall. They threw out 25% of the votes saying signatures not matching etc. Used to be more like 1% on in person voting. Just sayin.
Then our Gov and legislature pretty much do as they please. CA as a whole voted for capital punishment, yet Newsome says denied. He just cant live with it. Too bad.

Virtually all of the federal agencies have some form of a law enforcement, what's the big deal? They probably need to focus on the particular laws that they are charged with enforcing.

My point is that the IRS is not just accountants,. I'm sure they have to go arrest people when they break whatever law they broke. You aren't going to send your local county deputy to do that.

I don't see having an enforcement division as part of collections as a huge over-reach...or any for that matter.
In the long run, this constant fear-stoking does little/nothing for the betterment of the nation as a whole. Roughly every week or two a new piece of crap is thrown against the wall in hopes that it will stick and become THE divisive issue that tears things apart and severely hurts the US as a country...pity.

Let me ask you folks who think that a job that should be mostly checking numbers needs an armed branch? Why? How about they go and read up on tax codes instead. Every state has armed law enforcement that could and will do that job. I.e. escort the pencil pusher. Why do you as a taxpayer think we need redundancy at this level?
