All right, so maybe I should have said Lumberjack Logging Sports, but if I'm not mistaken, Jason is also a logger down in his home Country of New Zealand, besides competing around the world in the Stihl Timbersport series. Since 1997, he has won the overall event 11 times! He is still the current champ.

I would love to see him compete against the Basque champions!

So he is the best pulp cutter there is as well as the best hardwood logger and PNW type big softwood logger all in one.
That must be some guy.

I don't know alot about Jason Wynyard but I know he's a half Maori logger from New Zealand.
Very strong athlete 6"-4" over 300lbs. Just don't know for sure if he had much hand falling experience as a logger
What I can find he's done some mechanical harvesting. His grandfather was a high ranking officer in the Royal Navy from what I find. He's dad was a world champion in the '60s.
He started in competitive timbersports at 14 years old. He's presently 40.
When I think of big Maori woodcutters I see a pretty tough dude.
Sounds like his 6'-9" son plays pro basketball.
Steve Mack should know lots about him.

Here's a quick video clip of Jason winning a lumberjack comp a few years ago in Switzerland. Some great photos here, and I love the enthusiasm of the people and kids in the crowd.

Sorry, for some reason, I'm having a hard time getting the vids from Youtube to embed,
