When being taught to fell trees, the instructor told us 'to imagine balancing a ball bearing on the bar of the saw...' when lining up to do the bottom of the face or putting in the back cut.
It works most times :)

The other thing was hand placement on the handle...it's curved for a reason.

Perches...I leave them when its obvious a bird or critter is using it, and its not a detriment to the garden!

We figured between four and five cords. Way rottener weather, but a way better day... go figure.
