    0 for 2 today

60° today...nice, I'm gonna go cut wood. Have a bunch of downed pecker poles along the lane, easy picking. Grab the 192t, fresh fuel l, test run and the little bastard won't rev, stalls. Play dickaround with the carb, no change. Screw it. Grab the 200t, wash rinse, repeat, same thing. F it, off...

    Thanks Stihl

So my 084 has developed an attitude... Wants to kick back when starting. All is well with the choke on full, once it fires, flip the lever up a notch, yer screwed. First check, flywheel key. Ummm nope, threads for the puller are unique (larger) for the 084, my puller won't work. Damnit! Off to...

Need something to hold my cant hook

Used to use "grip fist" mounts to hold my Logrite cant hook to the arm on my tractor boom pole. Rubber cradle with a rubber strap to secure it. They didn't hold up in the winter, rubber got stiff/brittle and the srap would fail. They were marketed for the off road jeep folk, holding axes...

    Winch issues

After 10+ years the 9000lb winch on my truck needs the motor torn apart and cleaned (again). Not a fun job as it lives behind the rear bumper, under the bed. Easiest way is to remove it... Ed 1

    Leaf blower vs snow

This is my 3rd winter since buying my Husky 580BTS, its the biggest one they offer, damn near 1000 cfm. We've been getting 1-2" of snow every day, just enough to be a pain in the azz. Loml has a small cafe here in town, keeping the sidewalk cleared has been a full time job. Need to keep an...

    Ed's tip-o-the day

After doing carb work and changing the fuel line and filter.....your saw will run much better if you re-fill the fuel tank prior to pulling yer guts out. That is all, carry on.... Ed

Not a bad day in the woods

Just over 3 1/2 hrs, 10 firewood logs. Good thing as I'm so far behind this year its not funny. The weather last winter was not helpfull in getting an excess of logs on the landing, going to try and make up for it this year. Ed
