Species specific technique right there. River birch being the optimal species, elm would be another good one, spruce maybe. But then again ye old bomb pad is real easy to make for non impact turf jobs. Or cut it low enough so the log comes in flat.
Then again the longer I’ve been in business...
I had a job where the tree must go this way. 110’ 50” DBH cottonweed slight back weight over the transmission lines for an industrial park. Big c-sucker of a tree slightly swampy ground so it was full of water. The city didn’t want to cut it, utilities said it was outside their ROW( doubtful)...
I am going out on a short limb and saying a 5/8” stable braid is strong enough to break the traction of any on road vehicle( four wheels) pulling on it from the dirt.
I have a nice bruise under my thumb nail. Not black but it’s tender and sensitive. A few scuffed knuckles my guy got a nice slice from a hose clamp and bled everywhere. I think it would be easier to remove the engine next time.
S800tx mini. You can only see four inches of the belt under the hood. Getting it on the crank should be fun. Not to mention I volunteered to help spread 100+ yards of chips at my girls school.
Absolutely! It’s just one of those belts in an impossible location. Not the hardest repair just blind, like the literal definition of blind repair. If I had the hands and forearms of a toddler it might not be so bad. Lol
This sums up my day
A fitting end to a miserable day or should I dare say , icing on the cake. Forcing an ass crack of dawn hail Marry run to the parts store an hour round trip away. To quote Charlie Brown “Oh, good grief!”
Take a deep breath and count to ten and exhale. Once again inhale hold for ten and exhale slowly. Listen to the birds chirping, I’m sorry, I mean listen to the chipper chipping and chainsaws running and take comfort that you were right and your customer is not.
