You doing lots of removals or more contract felling/road access work? I always found folks up north tended to deal with their own tree work but with a higher than avg. salary guess folks are calling instead of doing!!!
How is Thompson treating you? I've always wanted to move there ... I once was going to take a flight nursing job up there but ... things didn't pan out. Well when I make it up there I'll definitely look you up. We have a small herd of Caribou here too ... fun to watch.
Well my season just wrapped up here - one 3 year old bull moose, 0ne Whitetail with the rifle and one with the bow. All in all a rather touch season ... for the time spent!!! Was skunked on Mulie and Elk!!!
That would work
My choice would be to get some CR-10 soak the barrel and leave x 45 min. / swab and repeat x 2. Then brush it with a non-metallic brush x 30 -60 times and then swab. After that oil it really good with G-96 and then forget about it if there is any pitting. if it shoots well...

Paul my friend ... I'm a left handed shooter also. I shot with a right handed gun for some years also ... do yourself a HUGE favor and look at a LEFT handed gun. YES they screw you over for 20 - 50 bucks because it's a lefty but that is a VERY small price to pay for a gun that will function...
if you understand the difference between 40:1 and 50:1 gas mix and can mix both without help (yes you can use a calculator/measuring device for the oil) then you can without issue reload.
Jess is totally right ... I have been reloading now for about 10 yrs or so and "LOVE IT". Use the recipe book (reloading manual) and you won't get hurt. Those reloading manuals are lawyer proof so ... the loads are actually tame. There is actually quite a bit of room to play (alot like...
Jess give the TSX 140 grains a chance and I doubt you'll go back. I do like ballistic tips for deer as they simply just drop where they are hit where the TSX tend to drill them hard (thru and thru) but the deer will move abit. I reload so love to play with different combos.
That is awesome treesmith ... we have a spud gun and love it. Shot a black bear with it one day ... he was one unhappy bear after getting popped by a spud (lol)
I agree with you there ... I hunt with folks that shoot moose and bear with a 7mm-08 but I would't trade them for the niceset/most expensive 7mm-08 in the world. I'll take my 338 mag every time ... I LOVE that round (225 grains flying at 2850fps vs. 140 grain flying at 2800 fps) ... guess it...
Well thought we needed to start a new thread ... I'm rather new here so maybe this one has been been done before.
For me it's a toss up
Tikka T3 7mm mag. or my Tikka whitetail hunter 338 mag.
let's say if I had to pick one the 338 would be my choice but I love them both. :P
