Yah , went a bit too far on the clearance ... R/D man ... got a new cover on order ... here’s a video before any port work was done ... tuned intake with K/N filter and tuned exhaust ... Saw has about 20 tanks of fuel thru at this stage ... approx 15-18% gains over brand new / stock WITH stock jug/slug NO Porting on this video , original jug/slug !https://youtu.be/tiysFN3-nL8

I’ve looked into that ... it may be more advantageous to find another that has and pay him $50 for a “run” and then get the computer printout

Maybe for YOU no mods needed and that’s fine ... it’s just that imho you just can’t beat a 462c on steroids ! Or a 441cm for that matter ... I’m limited to the stock intake/filter on this version (441cm) as of now ; on the 462c I’m not ...

Yah , I don’t run stock saws , just don’t do it mahn ! That 441cm is right there with a stock 661cm ; A stock 661will beat up on a stock 462 somethin fierce lol The 462c is 12-15% quicker than the 441cm as we speak ... STIHL doing some R/D (it takes time to do the job right ) ... Right now Shes about 32% quicker than stock with off the roll chain , waiting on / machining components as we speak ... As soon as I am satisfied with the fuel economy the vid will get posted k ...

Yah , I built my 462c with the intention of using a 20” b/c and am very pleased with the Saw ... lotsa-balsa in a very lightweight package ! Just make sure to run top-tier fuel and mix oil in these new “metered air-leak” offerings ... Time will tell on the longevity / durability ; Right now (at least imho) its a game-changer ... especially if you have one on steroids lol

Talking ported not stock ... stock all 3 ; 461,462c and 572 are similar in performance and are ALL dogs compared to their ported brethren

I have a logosol robot chain - grinder that I fire up when doing customer chains ... https://youtu.be/VF88_qFLrkA , I also file by hand with the Saw/bar in a vise but have had excellent results with the STIHL 2 in 1 sharpener ... The tool sharpens the teeth and rakers/stops simultaneously ... Used in the field with a stump - vise I can get my 20” b/c 72drivers chain ripping again in about 5 minutes ... only drawback is that the “raker” file is a bit expensive to replace - a “file card” helps extend its life as does an overnite “soak” in vinegar ...
