Do they use Ethanol in Oz? Anyone have experience with fuel stabilizers like this one our saw shop carries? https://www.amazon.com/Star-Tron-Enzyme-Fuel-Treatment/dp/B001VMNHX8/ Probably only an issue in the 880, since all the other saws are in constant use, never sit longer than a day or two between uses.

I leave this browser (Opera) logged in & cookied. I have Safari the same way with the "forestkeepers" account. No issue with either one. Only got locked out after Brandon moved us to the Digital Ocean droplet and changed to HTTPS mode. Then I had to recover the PW, which was more difficult since the signup was an odd office e-mail address, not a personal one. Short story: nothing like you are experiencing!

In the thaw cycle. All 5" of snow is turning to slush. KC area got hit harder than us with the last snowstorm -- lots of broken limbs all over the place. We should stay busy heading into spring storm season.

I thought that was a contrasting slide: DON'T do what's on the left, DO do what's on the right.

Cory, glad you're back! I always thought GF was shorthand for "girlfriend" ;) Yes, thought the better of the Vizr after looking at our climber's scratched up one (but wondering if Brasso wouldn't take them out, as with headlight lenses). Going to go with the Husqvarna forestry screen instead -- decent peripheral vision, unlike the Stihl helmet.

I thought Raj had that standing order in place -- anything you want to send his way, just chuck it over the northern border wall in his direction. We have 2 Kingpark Chinese knockoffs (take 25:1 mix), a Jonsered CS2255, a Poulan Pro 245, and a 200T sitting in our boneyard. Dunno if they're quite available just yet... see what happens when all the dust settles.

That's for sure tempting -- a 462, hmmmm.... But we're giving the saw shop one LAST chance to do right behind their work. They sold us the saw new, then rebuilt it completely, we ran it for less than a month, now it's ready to go back in for a full rebuild.

Except our lemon that's been rebuilt once and needs to be rebuilt again 6 months later. The other 372 is still running like a champ, though after 2+ years of good, hard use.

5" of snow last night. Date night out was a bit hindered by the 40MPH top speed people were willing to drive on the hwy, but understandable given the blowing snow conditions. Still going to try to work today so as to finish off the property manager's list, just wait out the morning crunch hour and give the plows more time to catch up.

We offer the David Copperfield Disappearing Tree package deal. It's great, throw a big cloak over the whole tree, we go to work under it using all quiet battery equipment. Then the blimp comes in and silently lifts everything away. It's great, no mars, no ruts. But it'll CO$$$$$T you!

...unless it's the local Bobcat dealer who also is repping Bandit. They offered to demo us a Bandit chipper for a day or two. So for us, that could be 4 or more whole trees. And on a demo unit, we wouldn't hold back. See what that baby can do -- feed it lotsa 18" logs! Eat it!

Co-owner. Other ground men have steel toed boots, climbers wear Arbortec climbing boots, but don't change out once they're on the ground. :? I'm puzzled that both Kyle and Justin are getting on to me for making the same elective, conscious choice they chose to make in their respective situations. I for one have 1). a catastrophic foot/ankle injury I have to cope with, and resulting plantar fasciitis and 2). very wide feet (particularly in the toe box), making stiff steel toes very uncomfortable for extended periods. Plus, I'm not doing a huge amount of chainsaw ground work all told. Maybe this summer I could afford a $500 pair of custom boots, but not currently over winter.

More than just being across the globe in Sweden, but more so the turf, terrain, working conditions -- and even the general working style. If I were falling a tree in those conditions + limbing and bucking surrounded by a mess on slippery ground, I would want the chainsaw pants + logging boots combo to mitigate risks. I'm sure it looks altogether familiar to Stig! My reality is more assuming a safe stance, cutting off one or two limbs with me standing on the ground (not on the log). Then moving the material to stacks with the butts oriented toward the chipper for the brush draggers or the winch to pull it away. Repeat till all brush is cleared away, then buck up the log, winch away the logs or leave for the log grapple to pick up.
