Been cool and dry. Leaves changing still, and falling. Lots of native yellow leaves. Not the diversity of the east. Ornamentals bring in more color. Used to go to Looking Glass Mountain in NC over Halloween for a climbing trip. Beautiful fall colors.

keeper cords and a hook for the right place hang them, might help. I say its hard to loose a lot of things clipped together. Its easy to lose loose things.

Stig, Thank You. Brain fart. Too much going on. Black Walnut, susceptible to 1000 Cankers disease, confirmed in Washington State. I got called about storm damage. Should be interesting to see it up close. I'm doing some 1000 Cankers reading.

Bid an enormous (edit)black walnut (thanks for catching that, Stig) that just keeps growing and growing fast. Three, 3'+ trunks. The central most leader broke and lodged. Needs reduction. Seeing breaks and irregularities. Super sprawling. Access is poor. My favorite work tree. Some climbing, some 50' tow-behind lift work (good first use of the dedicated hitch-plate for the mini, rather than the BMG hitch, as the lift about doubles the mini's weight. A bucket truck would never make it, at least without 4x4 and impact. Perfect use of a spider-lift. Raining down walnuts while bidding. I didn't have a helmet, so I stood under big trunks, or out of the dripline. Hope to continue working on this tree. A bigger bid than the past (more work). May prop and brace a mimosa, too, hopefully. Never propped a tree, properly, before.

Not holding my breath. New ones are expensive. Machine shop said cleaning the brazing could take a ton of time. $250 plus shipping time to buy a new one.

Been kinda chilling out this week a bit. Went to the climbing gym on Sunday. Sore Monday. Employee had yesterday off for some family court stuff (yay). Burned some dirty brush piles at my house, put up some personal firewood for the winter. Sorted out the shop a bit more. More of the same tomorrow. See if my neighbor's idea of soldering the failed brazing on my repaired hydraulic pump works. Its low pressure. The brazing repair failed after 8 years or something. So long ago, I can't remember when or who did it. Going camping and rock climbing with Dahlia and mutual friends, dad and kid, plus other families, on the east/ dry side of the state near the Columbia River.

I don't have the set-up worked out, the punchline is autoerotic stanglization. But seriously, I had this same in mind when Willie had a bad, leaning dead tree at a campground, near a bridge. Has its niche. Use it time to time.

The larger tree interference was my armchair concern. Very cool. Can you make it power-driven with a remote control electric motor and brake? But, really, can you make it power-drive-able with a drill? Don't recall knowing your GF has a son. How's yours?

Don't know about recording. I use Google Hangouts for video chatting. FaceTime is popular. Tablets can be cheap. Skype is savable on the cloud https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12395/how-do-i-record-my-skype-calls

Rich, can you specify more of what you ate? Veg are carbs of a different form than pasta, rice, wheat, oats, but still carbs. Veg should have lots of fiber. Someone I knew had/ has diverticulitis... Or what not. She let the cow eat the salad for her, way too little fiber, lots of meat.

Zip to the chip-per. Dragging sucks. It's pretty crispy now, so few needles, and extra light wood. Should be pretty easy. A little green down low, no more. Good access. Might just narrow it up, rig off the reiteration trunk. Drop a 50-60' top, build a crash pad for the rest to hit, on gravel. No utilities. If I can mill out huge cedar table tops to sell, I might be more delicate. The lay is sloping downhill, then flat...log breaker. I just gave him a haul any excess wood or chips they don't want to keep type of price. Chip disposal, easy...I want it at home. Wood disposal. Easy, I want it or can make it disappear from the street... and the mini doesn't care about no stinking uphill to the street hauls! The butt log could be hollow. If unbroken, it might sell as a landscape log, with or without detail work to the flat ends to "naturalize" them.

Come on out and help climb it. Bring rain gear. I've got a guest room these days. 1139 Edison St NE 98506 https://goo.gl/maps/ByJZxfMyp3F2 You can see the top dieback. Don't see a time stamp, as on my laptop, and maybe tablet. Slightly down hill, 8' below street level, to the right of the house. Love me Google Maps.

I keep thinking I need bigger bars, stopping at 36"s, currently. Got a 5' dbh cedar to remove... Bid came in today. Good to be able to double-cut, plus, I certainly expect the center to be rotten. Short for it's height, currently with a double top. Past breakouts, too. Cool big sweeping limb reiteration that will hopefully be reasonable to transport a big piece across town, staying off the highway, possiby. It will make a badass archway or something. Couple days work. Mostly dead from drought. I anticipate a lot more big trees to die with harsh summers 4 years and counting. Might get some nice mill logs out of it. Maybe get a sawmiller with a slabber attachment. Rain!

College and private school Toronto, school clothes, books, laptops, new phones, vacation, all at the end of the summer. Get into the swing of school... Oh F! I didn't get those dead trees cut and winter approaches. Next paycheck!
