I love the ideas offered. No one has seen this but you and you know best, but tossing ideas around is a great thing. I find ( and this is no way referring to Reg) that many times we grow accustomed to working a certain way and forget how many ways there are to skin a cat. Did this tonight when asked my opinion from pictures of a bid. I saw a way to go from a tiny drop zone to a big one using a different method than what the estimator is used to. Kinda screwed myself out of an easy crane job (needed 100 ton plus for the radius) but also puts the one day job less than a crane removal in close to the same time frame and beats out the competition by over a day. Anyhow, I love how ideas are shared here

Just doesn’t take friction well. Low melting temp. Keep tinkering John. Aren’t you the one who gave away the idea that morbark adapted for their chipsafe technology?

Leverages and beverages is how I refer to that. Angle of the dangle. What ever you want to call it. That was nice smooth stuff Patrick.

Had a decent day for being windy and raining. Almost cut my hinge off on this one Got back around 4:30 and flipped chipper blades. Just when I was ready to leave the mechanic decided he needed a hand mounting the welder to his new service truck. Itís lightly used at 80,000 miles.

Good luck with that Kyle. Given the utility ROW I donít see them wanting to vary their practices. I reread your post. Doing service to the house canít they just slip the new plastic through the old steel? Only having to dig for the tap and connection at the meter? There is a downside to this but helps with restoration

That’s one thing I’ve noticed on Vermeer, more so in the older models. A great mix of metric and standard sizes. Our old 1800 and first 2100 had a mix on the same part. Really pissed me off when taking things apart. The worst was the bottom feed roller housing. It seemed like they used whatever nuts and bolts they had laying around the shop. Back to what Johnny mentioned. I think I’d scrap that idea and look for an aluminum insert and add airbags to the suspension. Or just keep an eye out for a decent used dump.

I want to have my bones replaced with antimantium like the Wolverine. That and the claws. Think of how bad ass it would be to just chip the whole tree as it falls. That and no one messes with a guy with wolverine claws.

No rope for me. Just a bit of assurance that I won’t be subjected to the sting of a twig accelerating at close to the speed of gravity. Chipper whip on a cold day is the only thing I’ve found that is close in comparison

Great work Peter even if itís not working quite as hoped. Trial and error. Maybe someone would be kind enough to show a close up pic of the grcs bollard? Iím sure you can come close. Had a weird day. Sent out to an ďemergencyĒ job for the county. 90í from the road and wet as can be. It was climbable, but not in the time frame. I told them I had to go back to get plywood or drive a half mile to buy new. Either way they were buying it. Nope, they offered to drag the trucks in with an excavator and stay till we were done, plus clean the mud off of the road. They left at 2. At 3 pm I had to borrow their excavator with out permission to drag everything back out. We cleaned the road off even though we were told they would ( hard to do when they left at 2). The place is a mess. Glad they saved $400 in plywood so I can charge them for 3 hours of overtime for the crew plus the extra restoration theyíre gonna have. I now know where my tax dollars are spent:X

Thank you Daniel for giving this cut a name. Been doing it forever just didn’t know what to call it. I like it for tops that have to spear down. It keeps the tips from whipping as it passes by

That works for logo stickers on trucks as well. The shop guy at the construction company did all of the fleet and they were all perfect. Secret was windex. Gives you a bit to slide them before they stick

I think that was one of the sales companies inflatables. Probably a log splitter or band saw mill. My oldest daughter was getting a bit cross with me talking to Palfinger for so long. That changed when she found out she gets to go with me to the meeting and sit in the truck. She commented later that it’ll look good in my driveway. Not quite how it could go down but I’m still going to meet with them plus they’re gonna set me up with glen garesmek and another company within a few hours drive time as a demo. Exciting times in my neck of the woods.

Give him a few minutes, he will find something:lol: Just hacking on ya Brian. Had a good family day. Got them up and off early to go to the last day of the Paul Bunyan festival. Lots of log splitters and sawmills. Did good though. I set up a demo on a cmc tracked lift, a morbark demo, and a meeting with tiffin crane. Cooking dinner late but they donít have school tomorrow so what the hell Also having a little bonfire with the neighbors

50-60í works great for 90% of the work. Unfortunately I seem to get the last 10%. I run a 75í daily and come up short at least twice a week. In need of a taller unit, a giant pay raise, or a really bad ass crane/grapplesaw;)
