Horseshit. Every time someone posts a workpics thread, do you not think they’re hoping a few peeps will chime in and compliment or ask a few questions? What’s the difference? Why do people post videos and pictures if not to impress or get feedback?

I understand the “it it ain’t broke...” mantra. But if it makes it better, if it improves or simplifies things, or makes things cheaper or more accessible to everyone, isn’t that a good thing? Do you remember when you were young and old farts would decry all modern stuff as pointless and unnecessary, because they were scared and stuck in their ways. Did you ever swear to yourself that you wouldn’t be like that when you got to be old(er)? Anyway, not having a go, just remembering my old boss, if he didn’t do it or use it when he was younger, it wasn’t worth doing. Ie. Top handled saws, chippers, blowers, radios in the work truck, chainsaw oil (bought cheap engine oil) tipper trucks.

It’s in different languages, It works in danish on your computer because you’ve downloaded it in Danish. It’ll work in English or many other languages. If you’re determined not to see it’s uses, then sure it’s stupid.

Ok (nice to see you back Stig btw) This company has divided the world up into 3 meter square pieces, each one of those squares has a three word name. Adjoining squares do not have similar names. Download it, it’s free (not Bob obvs as the Illuminati are after him)

I can see it being handy for tree mapping as it names an area of 3m square, for directions to a client, he just says I live at bear.gate.yolk I punch it in and voila! No multiple options or house or road name changes. Basically (for Cory and Jed) they have divided the world into squares of 3meter by 3meter, and each square has three words to identify it, 56 trillion square apparently.

Just discovered this, and downloaded the app, does anyone use it for locating clients or see any other uses/advantages? Pretty clever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What3words

Imagine being so determined you’d do that. You have to feel for the tree crew, that would haunt you for ever.

I’m a guy who loves a short vid on the internet, work cock ups, dogs and cats etc. Occasionally I’ll look at one and feel a bit guilty when it’s clear that There is a good chance someone died.

A close thing. Felled this poplar stem, left the truck where it was as it was in the shade and the dog was in it. Figured I had plenty of room to put it on the other stem on the ground to avoid too much lawn damage. What I hadnít accounted for is the bark shearing off at the impact point and the whole stem sliding almost frictionlessly forward to stop inches from the truck.

Ime, dislike buttons don’t tend to get used much. People tend to articulate their distaste or whatever. Lots of members on here do ‘like’ posts a lot of course, when they use the thumb up or clanking beer or +10 emoji Problem with that of course is you see someone has posted, click onto it and it’s just an emoji, which is a bit of a disappointment.
