If the tree fails it goes on neighbors house. Big tree over pool covered patio and house. I should have walked but I indirectly know the customer and have done work for them in the past and know nobody else in town CAN touch it. I hope it goes over tonight as the dude is sleeping at a motel then I can really charge the insurance Co. Climber will fly the ball and never leave, lotsa small picks, guyed back 3 ropes triangulated to minimize yaw. Only have one climber tomorrow though, lotsa saddle time...

Looked at a really sketchy tree today, big tree with lots of cracking and decay in the base. Tree has moved and is going for neighbors house. Has anyone ever tried to get a waiver to basically say you will do your best but if the stump fails during the removal process it is out of your control?? I am planning to guy the tree with heavy ropes and keep climber on the picks until we feel comfortable but if the shifting of load causes the tree to twist then all bets are off..

I used to eat all day long, small snacks. Boiled eggs carrots apples sardines nuts bananas apples. this year I started the intermittent fasting , just eat in the evening and I feel way better, so easy too. Crazy but Im not hungry during the day anymore, what amazes me is I get home from work then go on my evening ride, sometimes a 2 hour ride without eating and feel strong. Supposedly your body stop digesting 8 hours after you eat and starts detox and healing . Whatever it works for me.

One of the very best "Tree Guy" I have met is a guy called John Vivian, Buckey to his friends. Awesome climber, fast ass driver and would whip out some of his Mums novocain and sterile suture kit (she was a nurse) and sow you up as you drank his beer. That there is a good skill to have,Great guy to know . might be able to get my daughter into it but Im too squeamish

It ran in VA too. Chris just needs to move to a reasonable climate imo. When you have to worry about your eyelids freezing shut I'm out:lol:

I started to look at the table of contents and I haven?t been this excited to read anything in a long time! It?s been a long week. Long work days, my kid free week = living the single life, 2dogs, my own house, self employed, and it?s peak season! I am getting too old to chase tail at night then work the next day. It?s gonna storm tomorrow so perfect weekend to have something to read 🤙 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I was always a Stihl man but after they sold those POS 201s and said nothing was wrong with them even after SELLING a fix I decided to try Husky. I honestly think they are better saws, filtration is far superior.

Yup that is one of the first ones sold. John paid me $2000 I believe for one of the demo units on promise of a production unit when it became available. He was wise and kept his demo unit for as long as he could and didn't put wear on his till I sent it. I cant see from the pictures but Im sure that one has a simple rap ring for the TIP, love that. Only thing I would change is put on a CMI lanyard. CMI are a stand up company and knocked it out the field with their lanyard, PM me your address and I will send you one.

Rich, you know I'm no salesman and don't have anything to gain by John selling his Wraptor, however that being said it is ludicrous that you as a high production climber don't have one. Just as I have told you ,you need a crane you also need this. I don't care if your tallest tree is 50 feet you still need it, until you have experienced effortless ascent you just can't imagine how it speeds up the job.

Ask Carl about my ghetto quad wheel. I ran a stock rayco wheel with just 4 green pockets and it ground fine and was cheap to maintain. Ran it for about 15 years then switched to a revolution wheel. Revolution is easier to sharpen on the machine and cuts smoothly but is more expensive to run than my ghetto wheel

About ClimbMIT
Biography:
I learned how to climb working for a very successful tree service in New Orleans in 1996. After working for that company for a year I decided to start my own. Didn't work out then so I became a professional firefighter which had great benefits but wasn't happy. Finally after years of dragging through my days I was forced to make a choice. I decided to begin working for myself which led me to climbing again. Started new business in 2011. I am no longer a "hack" ;) I am a State Licensed Arborist who is learning to be a great Arborist!

Southern Louisiana
