If we have to take over 20" logs or whole stumps to the landfill, where they bring in a tub grinder or burn them, we not only pay the 55.00 per ton, but we get a 150.00 premium charge on top per load. Meanwhile, the larger company's doing ROW and roads get paied 40.00 per ton to take them to a transfer station where they grind them up and sell to a bio plant 2 plus hours away. California is ridiculous

It's a she, and she cleans them after and during every feeding. She was just pregnant when we had her fixed, so all the mom hormones were instilled. She also does this with the kittens, even so much as to move them outside to where she wants them The squirrels will nose right down face to face with her tongue cleaning them out of the cage. Fun stuff. We still feed them, but they are in the process of weaning currently... She even guards them from the cats that are our hunters. Laying in front of the cage growling at them....

Been considering on of those augers for our dingosaurus. Seems it would be a good asset for making stuff smaller that ain't worth milling. Or cedar split rail.

Yeah, glad I don't get many of those these days. Loose rocks can ruin your day. I do have a smallish pine coning up on the edge if a cut, over a house I am going to need to self lower to the guys at the bottom. Should make for some fun :/:

I would so dig sitting with a cup of coffee watching that out my window Until livestock were being threatened. We have a family of cats across the street in the vineyard. Never see them much.

I think big double dogs help too. Gives you a proper axis for gunning.

Like Burnam, I get weird about stuff being off level. My years in construction did that to me. Level and plumb. Every once in a while, my back cut will go high low to apex, but mostly when tired. Just ain't holding my mouth right for the weariness. Just keep practicing and correcting. More experience equals better cutting.

Bubble level works best on the pull start cover in line with the gunning sights.

Just for reference. I got the Rockman helmets for my ground guys. Works fine with or with out the chin strap. Reasonably priced system. Comfy and light. https://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=1542

Looks like yous guys have been busy while I was gone. Had a job up around 7000 ft. of some uglies at cabins and creek. No internet, phone or electricity. Started up there where it was cool and came down around 3000. More uglies. No pictures from up higher yet. HO is supposed to send a couple. Some lodge pole and white fir. Quite dead. This is close to the cabin... https://www.sierranevadageotourism.org/content/jones-store-at-beasore-meadow/sie76eb8c581159269ab Ones at 3000 were spilling termites and carpenter ants. Tight places and all out of favor. Tons of fun. Guy at the last job brought us in and had his own dingo. So glad he has to deal with the mess. Rob helped buck it after I dropped them and set the next one up. Was a good team. I sub the guy we worked with in from time to time and he does us as well. These were on a spring fed pond with a spring fed out door shower. Had two DZs we could use after we made one. Tight canopy, limb locked. Tall stump was where the shower plumbing goes back to. Had to cut it high to jump it through a crotch in the oaks anyway. 10 trees from the pond area plus a couple on the driveway so far. We'll go back and do another week of felling on the place proceeding up the drive to the house.

    Hey Willie:

Inbred people struggle with technology in general, and I can't figure out how to post stuff so that everyone can view it, so...unfortunately the burden lies on you to come up with an answer. Does a Humboldt minimize the slam factor as opposed to a conventional? For some reason, I have it in my head that because of the mechanical action of the Humboldt, there is more pressure generated on the stump than in a Conventional notch. Am I wrong? What would Jerry say, etc.?

How's the new baby doin'? How are you? I miss you.

    Jed
