I got one of mine from Tru Trailers about 2 hours from me. They do custom builds. Might look near you and see if you have a builder/designer close to you. Like was pointed out, you know what is best for you. Little upgrades like heavier steel sides and such go a long way. I got lucky while i was scouting around and found those guys. Seen a lot of buggered trailers being towed by tree guys. Just lack of corner reinforcement at the doors or thinner steel sides. Probably just bought what looked great new, then found that tree work is hard on them.....lol

I hear ya mang. I had to go out and finish that the job the crane went down on. Had to remotely rig a really nasty limb off next to the house and then clean the steep roof on rope while loads of wood went out. All done. Check hits my hands tomorrow. Feel bad for my crane guy. Crane still stuck there till next week when the pump arrives. Left him a message that i was able to complete the job with out him. He'll come up short what we expected to pay out, but Ill throw in some extra bones for good measure.

So I donned my SRT gear and sliced her down with some rigging and little cuts where necessary. Mike only got a couple of snippits... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ztG9aqZR5Cs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> He swung this one off the house a tad quick. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UFA9T4n6aVo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Some more fun today Quercus Kelloggii. One side and top had torn out. New owner can't get insurance until its gone. And now, it's gone. Not finished with the job yet. One more return trip. Crane hydraulic pump went before the second set up on the back side. Just had to do it the old fashioned way. At least the stuff over the roof got done before it went. Fodder. The victim.... White tape is the border of the septic tank rear of house. Few of during... And then it halted here.......:|:

About all that was left on it Stig. Heavy too. Hollow about 12 way up. Punky center to the ground. Had fruiting bodies as well.

I would prefer 65 plus more feet and some more aticulation. Side reach is limited. Gets the job done though. Most our live and blue oaks, a 50 footer works fine. Tracked spider lift would be awesome. One crew had a 90 footer up here for a bit. Too short to take down 150 feet of pine though...lol Nice just to rent and pass the the cost on. Group a bunch of work together and it gets cheaper. One week runs about a grand. Month i can get for a tad over 2gs. Oh, and the dingosaurus moves it around just fine on flat ground.

Thanks Sean. The video quality was bleagh. But here is the top and the long horizontal limb I balanced out from over the roof. We did a lot of 3 strap rigging due to the service (HO would not have it dropped) and the little sheds under it ... (3). Tad close to the primaries as well, so no flippy floppy allowed ;) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tM8E9BD0fDI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BvP5PGzHCsI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

50 footer Merle. Been renting a lot and had it on hand for prepping around the service line. Some of the limbs were wrapped clear round it. So cut them clear of the line prior to picking with the crane. Had a 5 day job with it as well.

We will be using a simular set up.on a clean up of a gulley here soon. We cleared it of old brush piles earlier in the year. Small tree of heaven needs cut now. We'll extract the brash using a high line tensioned with the hobbs. A haul back through a porty up top for friction to help raise the loads to a trolley using a line from the portable winch. The brash will then be landed by the chipper. See if i get a chance to video it.
