Check on Amazon. Not too bad. About 150.00 and change US$. The SMH10. Guessing that is what you had. Buying pairs saves a little and you have a back up.

Hey, treebilly! Please forgive my ignorance, but what was it that you saw during that second felling that prompted you to post this? Was it the smaller tree that fell over and came back in the direction of the stump? Thanks in advance for any comments you care to make. Tim

It's nice to see them treating you right, Reg, as well they should. That commute itself was a huge safety hazard, in my opinion. Good luck on the job, and I hope you can get some good rest in between days. Great video, as always. Thanks for sharing it. Tim

Sugar would just make me fall asleep faster. What works for me is protein, no carbohydrates. I'd start eating beef jerky about 30 minutes prior to the time I'd normally have trouble keeping my eyes open on a daily commute home from work. When I ate the jerky, the sinking spell just never happened; I was just awake and alert for the whole commute. Without the jerky, things would get a bit dangerous. Avoid breads, crackers, etc. Just meat with a bit of fat on it is ok, in my experience. Tim

No Stig. Our Pyrenees would not harm a soul, unless protecting kids or livestock. Funny how people are so leary or frightened of them for their size. But they are just big lovers. It was Daisy. Rot and cattle dog mix that was a rescue. We were seeing signs in her. Trying to work with her and the new pup calmed her down some. But the writing was on the wall. Nipped a walker down on the road.

Exactly. Just can't take the risk. Some dogs are just a liability. Definitely sux for wife and kids though. Just added stress for me. Booked through April and can't move on squat. Just on call getting house foundered and pinching pennies. Trouble with my environment is that it rarely freezes. All we have is slushy snow on red clay muddymuck. Heavy work, on hold till we can move equipment in and out. Bleagh

Hope it works out for her and your family Brett. 5 days of snow and rain. Started my day with my CCW renewal class in snowing cold. Instructor reminded us, it could be worse, like in Milwaukee. Came home and had to surrender a family dog to animal control for a biting incident. She'll be euthanized by the end of the week. :(

That is part of the appeal of the Amazon book publishing deal. No up front money required, I don't think. Books get printed and shipped only after a customer orders one and pays for it.

Just for the record, I was not trying to propose that Gerry re-write the whole book all over again. I'm just proposing the use of the Amazon self-publishing facility to take the best PDF version that currently exists, and making it available as a paperback book. Having said that, I know nothing about publishing, and don't even know if a PDF document could be used in that way or not. Thanks. Tim Edit: Here is a link to the main page for Amazon's self publishing information. https://www.amazon.com/gp/seller-account/mm-summary-page.html?topic=200260520 Clicking through on the hard copy link will lead to more details about the royalty arrangements. I'm thinking that Amazon's whole game in life is to try to make things as easy for people to do as it is possible to make it, and I would hope that they propose what writer's think is a fair deal. After all, it is in their interest to try to get as many writers in the world as possible to use their services, just like all of the customers who like to shop on Amazon. I hope this helps. Thank you.

  1. Yeah, thanks....we can all learn something if we are open to it. Brian has issues, I reckon...I'll just let him stew and work out his own way to be involved.

I enjoy your posts...glad to have you at the House.
