They are the store at the bottom of my hill , when I go there later for foods I will hang without the saddle to check friction with three or four different material sling selections

Like I said , unfamiliarity with the material ... I have thought about tensile strength , first day I looked at it there were steady thirty mph winds w gusts and it didn't appear to sway at all.

Probably too expensive to rent a lift for the one task , it's a store and they already asked the cable TV guys and their bucket won't reach. Power Company or Tree Company bucket could , but again probably too expensive.

Not trying to be argumentative but snap cuts and saw logs , I just don't see it as a plus. Make square cut measured length logs that will sell as you go , machine forwards them. Or leave them Tree length for forwarding and re-cut on flat landing somewhere.

Wrapping can be beat by the tip feed trick , it usually doesn't bother me as much as plugged outfeed chute does ... Drives my otherwise delightful workplace mood South.

... thought the news last year that the 372's will eventually have microshit control. Hmmmm , well after a trip to the Saw Shop today I find Husky's newest trick is no more 372's available new in North America starting next year and that's all folks. Sad , was probably their top performance "big" saw. I'm going to buy one new this summer even though not necessary at this time. Parts will still be available and much like my 335 and 338's I prefer them to the new models and rebuild when the time comes.

Nope , looks that way on stable braid sometimes after a tight line heavy pull , goes away

Fundamentals mentions any mechanical devices (might have been reference to double lock snaps) though great in many cases can be subject to failure i.e. twigs etc. jamming moving parts. In my case now I believe the pin failure is caused by poor or no spring extend on the two tiny ball bearings that retain the whole show. First time the culprit was Softwoods Sap , second was time was Ice and Snow. Just a theory but based on everything I know as I have pulled many stems w ascender on heavy line w Tirfor. Two times is too much failure for me though.

I bought grade 5 bolts w nylon and steel lock nuts for the safeties , after install I cut off and filed down the excess threads. I rather like the little bit of bulk reduction as well as peace of mind. (One pin was fine , the other not so much)

Yes ... Had a problem , twice !. First time I started a Gibbs repair thread here. Pull Trees of decent size w Tirfor on 5/8" line ... Both times even the damaged the ascender did more or less hold the line though. Thinking wing nut and lock washer to skip wrenches as it goes on and off the line quite a bit.

I'm thinking nut and bolt on everything now , even if I use a pin for rigging it will be an extra long one w a separate retainer not the spring lockers

PPE , it's real personal (comes down to preference and comfort aloft) ... always disliked the knot adjust on my safeties , when I didn't have the second Gibbs I would use a Blake's and minder pulley which gave me one hand adjust.

I can home those two if they're just collecting dust ... Always found them user friendly , especially w one hand.

Haha Boss , ladder won't help me ... Use two on my safeties , use bigger one for mostly all my pull work. Also handy for tensioning and anchoring high lines between trees.

I use them for both climbing and rigging. Do you use the spring lock pins or the nut and bolt. ??
