Some storm work from Yesterday. Steep wet grassy slope in a creek draw. We have been clearing this draw out for a couple years now since the fire went through it. Almost took the guys house. This tree was green but the roots were done. Last part of the video you will see 1/2 the root crown and stumps going down the hill on a 2:1. I have been using that pine stump for the portable winch redirect for over a year. I just left the stump there knowing full well I would need it again. Exploiting the only flat spot close to the creek we can get the mini to. Fodder. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wBfLmnYpSCw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Frans, as much as I prefer picking out clothes in person, I've had great luck buying clothes on Amazon. Even factoring in the clothes that end up on the top closet shelf in the spare bedroom after one wear, it's still worth it not having to deal with mall people. Stephen, my tuner guy will hook me up on whatever truck I buy. :D

A newish truck like that is wonderful. My recent buy (a 2012 GMC a year ago) has been excellent...many amenities I did not realize I "needed". It had 106K miles and cost $26,000. On your possible truck...the time I had a sun roof I didn't like it...even though tinted it passed thru too much harsh sun in summer....and it can eventually leak. And I would want a full 8' bed...that's what I got. Sometimes parking can be a challenge but I like the space for "stuff".

After 15 years driving the same pickup I'm getting the itch for something newer. Don't have a lot of extra money but I do have a 2014 Mustang garage queen, and if I get a newer truck then I'll drive the Mustang even less. It's great as a toy for going fast and that's about it. Even my 2002 F150 is much more comfortable to drive. Originally I was looking at 2011-2014 trucks around $15-20K but everything is such high mileage. But if I trade in the Mustang I can get something like this- https://mullinaxford.com/sale/certified-ford-f150-lariat/2016-ford-f150-lariat-1ftew1ef3gfa71188 And with a tune I can still satisfy my need for speed. It's 4wd, power everything and even blows cold air up my ass. For that I can give up a car I drive less than 5000 miles per year. And they already replaced the ratty tires with new Michelins. :D

I just made the biggest one tree estimate ever, last month. Got a call from another arborist that we have helped out on some tough ones before. After giving him my price, I suggested he call the one outfit on the Island who has a big crane. Hell of a price difference between owning one and having to rent one in, as we have to. They were about 5 grand cheaper. Later he called me and asked if I would have enjoyed doing that job. Had to tell him no. But I had 4 younger guys who were jumping up and down, yelling " Kill, kill, kill".

Fortunately, we are too high North for Pterodactyles, alligators and Kudzu. Talk about luck.

I remember and it royally sucked. Luckily aerosol cans became the norm shortly after I was introduced to those fricking paint pots!

Find myself evaluating the jobs ill take on. Especially since my crane guy passed on. Looked at a 6k crane job and walked. Told them, you can't afford me. Just did not feel up to the task. The crew has been borderline co-operative and efficienct. I did not want to add a new unknown from an outside crane source. My energy and patience are on the edge. The young guys can have the big job fun. That 45 trees in 1 acre I did was about the last I'll see of those. Crazy days.

I never have filed the chain much on the 150.. Damn thing usually gets buggered when the bar tip gives out and I just buy the set. I have the files though. Touch up...get to work. The 2511 is my go to these days though.

Yeah, I liked that Prussik trick as well. Seemed very well managed for the conditions.
