I agree Mick. It is humbling to me. You realise the full extent a champion has to put himself / herself through in order to rise above the rest. Doesn’t matter the sport really, they train hard. Unless they were John McEnroe.

Welcome to the forum. I once left a job and left a throwline in the tree overnight. Next morning I fight my climbline on and start hauling it up the tree. It snapped after about 5 pulls. I reckon it was squirrels. I guess it is easier to see critical damage on a climbing rope compared to a 2mm throwline.

I have re reduced one or two. Initial reduction was heavy, presumably making safe after the storms. Not by me, might I add. I was sent back to reduce the regrowth... very straight growing unlike the natural form of the tree. Cuts seemed to have healed resonably well, but IMO the character of the tree was changed by the visual presence of the regrowth. So I suppose it depends on what they are actually trying to achieve.

Sounds about right Sean. I have never even seen let alone held a full/3 quarter wrap handle in the flesh. Only in pictures.

Pfanner Arborist type A (front protection) or type c (all round protection). I have had quite a few pairs over the years. Currently have 2 pairs on type A and one type c with a brand new pair of aís ready to bring out when the time is right. I am based in Norway but contrary to popular belief it is pretty hot in the summers. We had about three months solid of 26degrees c to 36degrees c. Aís for the summer months and cís when it get colder. The fit is similar to jeans for me, plus I get to order them with extra 7cm in length. Suits the taller gentleman.

Good luck Butch. I can relate to the colonoscopy fart. The air they blow in is more uncomfortable than the actual procedure. I let rip during the procedure, hopefully it hummed as I wasn’t in the best mood. Lol.

I use this all the time. Tie off just close to balance point. Sideways gob gut and get the ground staff to put a bit of tension on. Back cut and watch the hinge do it’s work. Hold the line until the piece has cleared whatever it need to then lower to break hinge. It alway gets me wondering when some guys put the gob in the top and expect two ground staff to lift a heavy limb... different matter when a grcs, smart winch, skid steer is present.

Haha. A happy family. Healthy kids and a good woman. I am happy, so I guess I have achieved it. On a materialistic note a G63 AMG or a 911 turbo. Had a 911, none turbo for a few weeks when I was younger. It was a blast but not really sustainable as a daily motor, at least on my current pay grade.

I was basically just cutting out bread and pasta and rice. Occasionally I would eat carbs but very few. Mostly I was eating protein in the form of meat and fish and eggs and nuts etc. I now still eat pretty healthy and still keep the bread intake down, although I do occasionally eat pizza or pasta. I tend to eat a fair bit of rice these days but very few potatoes.

Thatís about the long and the short of it. Everything in moderation and keep moving. I cut out carbs and ate almost only protein and veg a few years ago. Not a good idea. After quite a few trips to doctors and the odd camera up my jacksie, they discovered Diverticular desease. A condition caused by these modern diets and not enough fibre. Basically, the intestine wall gets small holes in it that heal over. This is due to the stress caused from peristalsis not actually having enough shit to move, straining the wall of the intestine and possible leading to other, more sinister conditions. The moral of that one is eat a bit more sensibly and exercise.
