That's all we use Kyle. Crank that ratÁhet and you can hang upside down. Lx, you may be able to switch out your current hard hat harness for one with a ratchet. The retractable lanyards lock like a seatbelt. If your tied at waist height the system might take you into the beam as opposed to below it. It's more suitable to muscle yourself back up but what kind of shape are your arms in after that fall? I know I would try to catch myself which would hurt like hell.

Lx, if you are tying off at your feet and working alone, with no real plan for rescue, having a hard hat that doesn't fall off might not be your first priority. Dealing with suspension trauma is good if you're conscious and have the use of all your limbs. Ideally your tie off would be directly overhead with no shock load or swing. Unless you have a crane that follows you around and let's you tie to the ball, your tie off will be less than ideal.

You could start asking the nurses you deal with if they know anyone. As a cat lover myself, I know someone will take them once they hear the details of the situation. We can sweeten the deal and offer a few months of food/ litter/shots to whomever adopts them. At the expense of Treehouse donors of course.

Removed a leader on an Elm yesterday. Finally got to use a port a wrap which my brother fabbed for me years ago. He ran the ropes for me and was impressed to see his tool in action. He was less impressed with some of the limbs I sent down for him to fight with.:P Short vid of the job. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HdvDs1jKjCw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Maybe 15-20' horizontally and 25' vertically from the back alley. Could be a little boom off the back of a retired phone company truck I suppose. Thanks for the tip on the throwing.

Here's a job I did this morning. The customer was quoted a retarded price for what I did, citing their lift wouldn't "reach" from the back lane and they'd have to rent a bigger one which was where most of the price would go. Unless their lift was a scissor lift I really don't know what they were talking about. I was also blown away that an established tree company didn't have someone that could've climbed this tree. I know some of you guys like your tree vids short and sweet. I'm halfway there with this one. I should've watched the vid as I played/recorded the E-drums but it's kinda funny where some of the drumming ended up anyway. Low flying cut and chuck with no shortage of one handing. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gXIdu5ZLclc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

When I think of the gear I've been gifted over the years, through this site, from some of the top guys in the industry, it really is quite humbling. Saddle, lanyard, lifeline, throwline, rigging block, micropulleys, carabiners. I'm honored and very appreciative.

Yes. I guess I should ask your price before I grow too attached to it.

I'll take the green one please. I can e transfer or PayPal you some money for the FS and some to pass on to your customer to cover their end of the shipping when they get to Canada.

I'd like one of those friction savers but an online shipping calculator says 30 pounds minimum charge to Canada.

I work with a guy who is an alcoholic hypochondriac who tracks his heart rate with a fit bit. His heart rate is always elevated but he's convinced it is a condition and not withdrawal induced anxiety. Jed, I fully support you wearing a Go pro and sharing your video here.

Woke up in the middle of the night with a painful cramp in my quadricep that felt like someone slipped a golf ball in there. Thought I was rehydrated before bed but I guess not. Also had a massive headache yesterday when I was parched but could also been the 40ppm of carbon monoxide my personal monitor was picking up. Industrial work ain't all it's cracked up to be... mind you I haven't been stung by a wasp since I quit full-time tree work.
