I want to use a gluestick, plain old elmers/school type, to apply adhesive to the throat of a splice to attach a label. Then I want to put some more glue on the label and put heatshrink over it and shrink it down tight.

Any problems with glue on the rope?

Why do you need the glue if you are going to heatshrink over the top?

But, that said I use electrical tape wound around rope, then write on it, then heat shrink...never seems to be a problem with the electrical tape adhesive over time. Elmers is pretty benign stuff...

I don't know for sure but I would be willing to bet there are different qualities of heat shrink tubes.

Yea you need the thick stuff. Ill find the stuff I have and post a link to it when I get home.

You can get shrink tube at Fasanal with the glue already in it. Not cheap but it's the real deal.

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

You could also do 2 layers of shrink with the label sandwiched in there. No glue necessary.
