My parents gave me a gift certificate for Xmas that includes dinner and a movie. They also offered to watch our kids over night. So tonight we are going to cash it in but we have no idea what to see. Has anyone seen any movies that are out right now? Are there any with seeing or any that we should stay away from? I think the last movie that we saw in the theater was Grand Torino so it's been a while for us.

That was suggested by my wife. I heard the acting is not real good but it's still a great movie.

Find a theatre that shows old time movies and watch Casablanca.
Or Akira Kurosava's "Seven samurai"

Willie, I hated that movie, the whole thing made me feel gut-wrenched... Even Meg didn't like it. I just felt horrible for the guy the whole time.

To each their own I guess.

I figured that my wife would suggest that one but she thought it looked like a sad movie. We are looking for amore upbeat movie. Although I am not sure how upbeat that Valor movie will be.

Act of Valor bro, best movie I've seen in a long, long time. Love the realism behind it, all actors are active duty SEALS, live ammo was used for all the shots, and great meaning behind it all. I'd recommend that over anything out or coming out until May, I found it that good.

A little cerebral but great movie ...

Thats tough, Grand Torino was a good movie, and 90 percent of the latest movies suck IMO

Well we ended up going to Act of Valor. Good movie but bad acting. I think it was the best choice given what is currently out.
