Needin' an 046 fuel tank.

Get ahold of Scott at chainsawr .He's got parts galore that he doesn't even have listed on the site .
Some of those flea bay prices for like a 160 bucks for a tank / handle you could probabley land a complete saw with a cooked top end or something .I didn't look too hard because they listed over 900 entries just under 046 .Lawd only knows but probabley as many under 460 as well .

A lot of those folks on ebay are selling 460 tanks as 046 cause they don't know the difference.
I only want a screw cap tank, a real 046 tank. A parts saw will be fine too.

I don't know what it is but you seem to find quite a few that died from either a cooked top end or a busted tank .It's a popular saw so that might account for the numbers .
Another option could be a friendly Stihl dealer who has a dead pile .I've done alright myself that way .Then it comes down to finding a Stihl dealer and the word friendly that would fit in the same sentence together I suppose .
