Hi everyone i know its been a while but just wondered has anyone successfully done a class 2 splice with wire inside it to keep it open for use as a redirect sling to minimise weight.

I have tried but once the wire was inserted my measurements got thrown off so im a little stuck on what to do about this.

The wire will be covered with heat shrink to prevent inner core damage.

Thanks

Jamie- the best way I've seen wire (cable) used to keep an eye open was a short piece (about 8" long) what was welded at the ends to make it smooth and to prevent fraying.

When you say your measurements are off, can you be more specific?

Why not stick with a class 1 rope?
