Skate boarders that is. Check it out, Bones Brigade get together to plan documentary. I recognize Stacy Peralta and a few skaters; Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen and Tony Hawk. I met a couple of them back in 1986 at the vancouver world expo, owned a few of their decks and rode all of their decks at some point. I regret giving up my old Bones Brigade and Rat bones Brigade tees and swag back in the day. Most of the DB's that wear the bones brigade skull and sword hoodies likely haven't a clue where it comes from. Sorry for the retro post, I am feeling nostalgic methinks. :)

I am wondering if Magnus will recognize the Per Wilander deck. :)
My bonus as an early teen was that 4 doors up the street was the Canadian freestyle champion, guinness book record holder who practiced on the street. :D He was ranked second to Rodney Mullen (yeah the perfect 10's guy). his record was for 2 board 360's, something like 1030, back in the early 80's. He let us use his gear and skate in his basement with him when it was crappy out. Lots of fun.

I remember a song called Skate and Destroy, never been able to find it again.

Thanks Andy, apparently there is arguement over which band owns the song, Dead Kennedys or the Faction. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ns1Q__ePuuM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ns1Q__ePuuM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Thats the song I was thinking of but for some reason I have a perry farrel-esqu refrain going through my head, must be another song jumbled in somewhere along the last 25 years. :D

Haha I was a skater punk in my day and I loved the bones brigade.... those guys were the shiznit!:D

My first board was a used Lance Mountain with Indy 215's (whopping) and Bones 3 wheels I think (also whopping), then moved up to a new Tony Hawk with Tracker Ultralights and some better wheels. Those were the days.

Funny the things you can remember from, probably, 25 years ago.

I never thought DK's sang Skate and Destroy.

Remember, maybe his name was Jonny Rad, at the Blue Tile Lounge, lounge-singing Skate and Destroy, in one of the BB's videos?

I still put rat bones on my climb helmet.

I skated hard for about 20 years straight.
Go as fast as you can, faster faster and farther.

Then I turned into someone who doesn't enjoy sliding across pavement on my face.
That and being called the weird old guy at the local sk8 park by the lil groms.

Who's still looking for Animal Chin?

I got a used board from a storage unit my Grampa bought at an auction. Went to a buddies place to ride, hit some gravel and supermanned. Rode the board down the hill to grampas sitting on it, could barely walk as my hands and entire side was rasberried and hurt. That was the end of my skating!

I cant count my scars there are so many. hips, knees, elbows, wrists... skating was a big part of my life. :)

Bodean, where do you get rat bones decals these days? Or do you free hand them, I havent seen a decal in probably 20 years. I had a tee with a chain link of rat bones skulls across the chest and back around, 3 sizes too large but I didnt care after I won it in a comp.

Go big or go home? (I'm going home now!)

THE SLAM SECTION!!!!
Everyone loves it. Some of those are pretty bad.

Paul, frig the man, I just draw it on with a sharpie.

But, ultimately ebay if you're looking for OEM decals.

I gotta find my Powell Skatepark Member card, it's got my picture on it.
The park was in Goleta UCSB, Santa Barbara. Pretty Close to SLO, where I was.

Dude, find Tony Hawk on twitter and touch base, I chatted with him briefly last week during a webcast, was way cool to touch base after 24 years. :D

ps, you are awesome and old school if you can freehand a ratbones logo on your shit to this day, I am envious. :D

hardly, my only board time in the last 10 years has been 2-3 times on my nephews board attempting (and succeeding) to pull off an olly. :D
