We have Italian cypress like that here. 60 foot plus tall right at the door step.. Laughable.. 30 foot of front yard to the power lines..(in town) Ya just gotta love it. Future money :D

The poor lady really agonized over the decision. Quite sad because it was a beautiful, healthy coast redwood, 25' tall, and 4 feet from the house. One of those things, the longer you defer, the harder it gets.

We should have a section for "wrong tree, wrong place." Well, maybe not. The pictures would overload the memory on the server.
 
I thought it was George Washington commenting on the cherry tree that was lifting the foundation of his dad's house.

Seriously, I think it would be fun to have a section on trees in unusual places. Or maybe, unusual trees. Here's one I saw today:
