Tapering Cover on velocity

Hey All,

I've been putting eye splices on the 7/16 double braid climbing lines using Samson's directions but they don't show a taper pattern for 24 strand cover double braid.

I've been using the 20 strand cover taper pattern they show (8,5,4,5,4,5,4) but I'm not happy with it.

I thought I saw a pattern for the 24 strand covers somewhere but I can't seem to find it again.

Anyone know what the pic pattern is for the 24 strand covers?

Rick- I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but have you considered "no pattern?" if you randomly pull strands from where you think they should be pulled, you should create a lovely taper.

It's quite invigorating!

I have been using the Samson directions for the class 1 double braid splice. in step 4 it says to mark every 5th L & R strand until you reach the end. I assumed that they were referring to the 24 strand cover because the next sentence gives the cover count for 20 strand which is your stable braid. I have done several 24 strand splices using these instructions with excellent results. Good luck.
