Good stuff...the GRCS really does seem to give you great options to handle big limbs. Your big saw at the end is really eating through the wood...almost effortless. 8)

Nice job! No cleanup?

You bet, no cleanup. Take it down and cut the spar into firewood, he was gonna take care of the rest.

When I get nervous up there I just put my hands in my armpits and smell em'.

Butch, please excuse my idiocy, but what's TCOB? I'm only familiar with WTF, lol.

Oh, the cameraman is actually my wife. I think I'll keep her.

Thanks Mr. S, I finally got it. It's one of those things, you wonder why it took so long to figure out.

Thanks Ranger. Yeah, that big dog is a 660 w/ a 32" bar. My 200 and 660 are both pretty new, but I still keep maintenance a high priority. It's a respect/pride thing.

Great job, and good videotography. Just the way I would have done it when I was your age, Nails.

Although when I was your age,, we didn't have a GRCS, amongst other things.

I enjoyed your video for as much as the old school in it as the new school.

I hear ya on maintenance. I try to clean and check my 192 once or twice a week, depending on how much I use it.

Thanks Jerry, I know you are an expert at this and I admire your work and passion greatly.

We got that GRCS from Charly P. last summer and it has served us well.

I come from a pure old school background and am trying to keep that at heart while mixing in the worthwhile new school methods. My oldschool mentor (my dad) was working the ground while my brother ran the GRCS on that one.

Mixing camera's and tree's is what I am driving for now.

Butch, who put that gay music in there? :O Ha, ha, that's hillarious.:D

Sorry, my wife had another page open that started playing the music, that's twice as funny.

Maybe I'm not seeing it, But from what I do see it appears you had enough room to first work out the roping part and then simply toss as big a top as the LZ would allow, even the entire tree perhaps.

Anytime I can easily drop leads something I always ask myself "Can I use these limbs to help me to accurately move the tree?" Sometimes what appears to be the easiest way isn't always the best way - know whutta I mean?

I don't see where the GRCS was all that important. I do the same thing every day with a homemade portawrap.

Lotsa ways to skin a cat, just get'r scun. The whole tree couldn't be felled without damage to the nearby trees. You can see some of the free falls tickling the limbs a bit.

Yes, the tree could have been taken down with a natural crotch and trunk wraps much less a porty, but you use what ya got. The point of the GRCS is to take big controlled pics by standing them up and taking the shock out of them.

That job took 2hrs. from the time we pulled up to the time we left.
