I wasn't a kid when this show came out but I watched it just the same. Its a great starting point for kids. Haley and I just watched the show on gravity. She was carrying a box and the bottom opened and everything spilled out to which she said "I didn't do it!" Now we know its gravity's fault.

I'd get the whole series on DVD but I think the first box set costs $367 on Amazon. Maybe I'll get it for Xmas.

Bill Nye ROCKS!!!!!
Once in a while I can stand watching "Living with Ed" a show about Ed Begley Jr. one of the most proponet "greenies" you can imagine. Bill is one of his neghbors and they are in a bit of a "war" over who can produce less waste and more energy with nothing.
Sometimes it's good, sometimes it make me want to pull my hair out!!

Science is always cool....in a cool nerdy kinda way. :D

Heck ya, you get to blow things up in the name of science. I loved the thermite demo my chemistry teacher did. It is a very exothermic reaction that can be used to weld things like railroad tracks in the middle of nowhere.

TC we bought one of those 30 inch rolling magnets to get the nails out of the driveway (1500.00 worth of tire replacement and repairs later. Kids and nails.. yikes!) and now the kids love that thing and keep the driveway and parking areas clean. ;)

TC, I was really happy to find out that ACE and Lowes now carry some of those type of magnets. Great fun....uh...I mean VERY USEFUL.

I have a book on backyard pyro-something that I bought Mick when he was younger. I thought better of it later and never gave it to him.

I used to love watching Bill Bye. But then I got a B.S. in biochemistry and forgot how cheesy the vids were.

Cheesy maybe, but if they can get ANYone (regardless of age) interested in science and maybe looking at life differently....then they've served their purpose. I'm amazed sometimes at how braindead some people are about how life works on the nuts and bolts level.
