RIGHT NOW

I don't get any TV here. How big of a spade are they using? I've worked with up to a 90", and the former boss now has a 100"

No spade, they dug around it, then slid pipes underneath the root ball with a hammer. lifted it with 4 pistons and 2 i-beams, onto a trailer.

Cool! I've seen some pics of that on the web. There's some guy in TX with some sort of shuttle scooter that will move a 3-4' tree on it's top.

hmmm, lots of time on a 28 to 48" spade system... seen a 96", never heard if a 100". missed the show, oh well, another 20 years in the biz maybe I will get to see all that fancy stuff. :)

Anyone see the previews for "Extreme Logging" on discovery. I don't know if it's a series or what, but it's logging in a swamp on Tuesday at 10PM.

I saw that.

Reminds me of a clearing I did with Newfie a few years ago.

The reality of everyday logging wouldn't make for good TV, that's for sure.
