Do bees cause damage to trees? Does the honey cause damage to trees? Can bees pass bacteria to trees?

Can bees live in trees in a manner that is safe to the people living around the tree?

Bees indicate decay pockets in the wood.

Like carpenter ants too.

I know that's just obvious but thought'd I broadcast that.

I have seen a number of trees fail at the point where a bees where in the trunk. I think that their presence usually means a large cavity and should be inspected. By someone other than me of course.

That's what I told the lady. The bees aren't causing decay, but they are there because OF decay, and like OM said, it should be looked at.
