I've never had the pleasure of seeing one in person but the bristle cone is one of my favorite trees. It's ability to live in harsh conditions commands respect!

Only thing left to do is step into a room with a mirror and ask, "What do I believe in, have faith in, and preach?" We all do it.

:) For us all...one of the big benefits of The TreeHouse. Cory, yes Funeral of The Pines. He does use it to go bigger, not sure of all the pluses.

Real long article but well written and readable about why young people are having less sex and the usa birthrate is at record lows. A lot of it seems to boil down to, surprise surprise, phones, social media, the internet https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/12/the-sex-recession/573949/

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked,"If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?" "No, I had to stop drinking years ago," the homeless man replied. "Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?" I asked. "No, I don't waste time fishing," the homeless man said.."I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive." "Will you spend this on hunting equipment?" I asked. "Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless man. "I haven't gone hunting in 20 years!" "Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a shower and a terrific dinner cooked by my wife." The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I replied, "Don't worry about that. It's important for her to see what a man looks like after he has given up drinking, fishing and hunting."

Merle, are you referring to funeral of the pines? Nice vid. I wonder why he double ties almost everything? Bad rope men cuz he's a sub so he can't trust the random rope guys he's working with to get it done right with a single tie? Plus he could then take bigger pieces which would help make up for extra time setting up the cut.

It's so simple it's counter intuitive. You go up to the crane's maximum comfortable reach, and butt tie the tree to itself with nylon slings n shackles, while you're tied to the crane. When you make the release cut, the CO must boom yu up n outta dynamic thrashing range till things cool down enough to retie into the tree, and start pickin n grinnin in earnest. Done it hundreds of times, with an experienced CO, but never with a rookie CO. Jomo
