Kevin, I started climbing in 1967 and did it up until a stroke slowed me down about 3 years ago. Still do it with grand kids occasionally. This is a good site to pick up some tips, especially from the likes of Jerry Beranek and Dave McNeill. I think the times I picked up the most new ideas and good info on using them have been attendance at Tree Climbing Championships, especially the 2 I competed in in 93 and 94. We are not an extremely secretive group when it comes to sharing ideas. You just need to start low and slow and see what works for your abilities and work situations. Most of all have fun and be safe. If you enjoy it you will never have to go to work a day in your life.

Thanks guys. I really wanted to go with the 28" wide bandit... buy the cutter arm geometry is wrong for city tree vaults... the Rayco is better suited... However I had no idea it was over 9' long... and 35" wide... not tiny but hopefully effective... Looking for a trailer now to pick it up from docks... and general transport... thinking most likely a 10 foot flat trailer... or the landscape trailers with ramps attached... Anyhoo... onward and upward.

Just keeping it real. Thanks. Some Shit broke around here from that work so taking the day OFF (sortof) and delaying this week's job. Mike called in sick and will probably be out all week. I need a third body on that job. Client has delayed my check, so her job just got smaller on my end. Dingo gets new tracks and a hinge pin. Kids pastor gets a load of chips for his garden project and I get rid of mill slash. Trailer spring shackles on the white dump trailer and fix a left brake/turn wiring issue as well on it. New CARB for a brush cutter..... 90 some odd degrees with 90 percent humidity, this will work avoiding that swamp of a pasture today.

By George the little crawler might get-er-done .I looked up the Nebraska test and on this, the gasoline version with 12" tracks ,it has the ratio was about 97 percent of machine weight .At 9600 pounds that would be around 9300 pounds . Another thing I found interesting is the diesel version of this model had a pull that exceeded machine weight which is highly unusual .The usual ratio of a crawler is 90 percent .

I have the wheeled 35 hp version, good grinder. Congrats, you’ll probably figure out soon enough how to bypass the stick and magic eye safety features.

Next time you want to re-heat cold leftover pizza, try a covered skillet on medium heat. Comes out almost like its fresh again. If you wanna get crazy, drop a little butter and minced garlic in the pan first and let it heat up. I'll never re-bake or *shudder* microwave it again.
