Our police & courts run on a for-profit scenario...=more police=more private prisons for profit = more police = more confiscation & sale of property = more police....

Cops are so overworked here, you can probably drive without a windshield.

Windshield is just a toe in the door. Pull someone over for the windshield, get them for something more exciting.

"Proheat is a global leader in advanced auxiliary heaters." What do you know? I've never heard of them, so I guess Europe isn't part of the Globe. Looks like really fine units, wonder why we don't see them here. We had a Webasto put in the new feller buncher. Saves starting the machine up and sitting around for hour, waiting for the oil to heat up. This way, the driver can just hop right in and go to work. I just did the numbers on that. It'll have paid for itself in a year.

My 94 f350 seems to have nice steering, just off a bit when going down the road. I replaced the powersteering hose after the belt took it out. I guess the hose has a design problem with seals.

My old F450 didn't turn back to center on its own. Steering felt tight. Grease, they forgot about grease, and oil changes, and adding oil when low and black.

Crap Rich! Hope your gear gets replaced. My 2010 f150 has tight steering, won't return to center. Guess there is a steering shaft with 2 u joints. Sprayed them down this morning, noticable improvement. May be that will buy some time? I have some nice jobs scheduled, I need the truck working. With the bad start to the year I don't have the cash to do major repairs. :(

Thanks for posting the link to the story, Mick. It was an interesting read. I'd be guessing the price is not a mistake. Rarity makes for high prices. Just as with Jerry's hard copy book. Tim

That really blows, Rich. Fuckin thieves should get their thumbs cut off. Probably not much help but if I'm working at the plant (often) I spend alot of time scouring eBay for tree tools and climbing/ rigging gear. I'll keep my eyes peeled. I remember a new orange roperunner and a zigzag/ wrench with the aluminum tether. Tell me some of the high dollar items and I'll keep my eyes peeled. Might help, ya never know. If the thief goes for pawn shop, they might be smart enough to go to the next closest city/ county, and not sell in the area it was stolen from. Check other Craigslist pages as well as your local one. Consider it might be someone from another tree service too, thinking a hacky fly by nighter. The fast cash one can make climbing also attracts some scumbags.

My hired man is on holiday so I’m scraping by on casual staff. Even had the Dutch guy back to drive the loader for a couple of days, usual story. I asked him not to use the higher speed setting on this job as it was tight with (puncture causing) stumps and people in vulnerable positions. Of course every time I checked he was using it. All the way to the job and all the way back, non-stop bullshit about how well he’s doing etc. Come back hired man!

Most of my "hating" experience came from being caught between the engineer's prints and the installers who didn't have the backing, etc. they wanted/needed....we never had time to mess with others' jobs Wow Rich, things should go great for a couple months after getting all that bad ju-ju out of the way.
