Wire loop puzzle

My cousin made this puzzle for my stepdaughter and I am supposed to take to her in Portland OR when I take her some other stuff. Well I spent about 4 hours today trying to figure it out and finally had to say Uncle and went on YouTube and found a solution for it. The exact puzzle wasn't there but there was one that was similar. I think he made it from a clothes hanger. Do any of you guys do stuff like this?

My Grandpa and Unle used to make them. I still have a few. One is horseshoes with chain holding them together and a ring on it. Hard to explain, I'll have to dig and see if I can get some pics.
