If you haven't seen any movies by Miyazaki, I highly recommend doing so. DVD quality is always best but here are some online versions.

This one isn't a Miyazaki film but it was done by his studio Ghibli. It is an intense movie about two kids in Japan during the final stages of WWII.

I've watched a few Castle in the Sky, Howls and Spirited Away. It's nice cuz you can watch'em with young kids and everybody can enjoy.

Oh! I remember a couple of his films.....'My Neighbor Totoro' (http://imdb.com/title/tt0096283/) was one I bought the kids.....I would stop and watch it with them. WONDERFUL.

I haven't seen 'Princess Mononoke', but it's what my 19 year old daughter wanted for her last birthday.
