This is the way a freezer is supposed to look:

If I had that stuff I'd be as big as a house. I have whiskey, chicken breasts, and ice cubes in mine.

I have whiskey, chicken breasts, and ice cubes in mine.

Ditto, except without the whiskey. Or chicken breasts.

I think he was razzing me, Butch.
Hey Brett, shall I provide photographic evidence? :P

we have lots of stuff. the freezer over the fridge has some soup, perogies, mixed veggies, ice cubes, ground beef, big ziplocs of strawberries and blueberries, one half full tub of old ice cream... the half size chest freezer has a couple pie shells, box of burritos, a few steaks, chicken boobs and thighs, more bags of frozen fruit, a bunch of those big freezies (wife likes them), few containers of apple sauce, box of individual sized edamame dishes, bread, bagels... and a few things I am forgetting I am sure. :)

Whats left of an Angus side. Time to inventory I suppose and have another one processed. Its nice not having to buy that garbage they call beef at the grocery store.

Amen to that. Plus, it's so much more appealing than a corpse... nothing but in the way.

O.K. >> Update, & forreal :
A half dozen or so pkg.'s of venison, a (what was once) beautiful fillet of salmon, & a concert T-shirt that my girl swears she will preserve (sweat & all) for the next time those ragamuffins come to town.
Oh, and a pkg. of "Chicken Nuggets" that do NOT fit the description... prob'ly won't ever get eaten.

The last of last summers plums , cherries and apples from the orchard and a bunch of frozen homemade pesto, made from basil grown in the new greenhouse.

Nothing like pasta with pesto genovese to brighten a cold dark winter day:)

Three deer, a couple of boston butts, assorted veggies, and 40 packages of chicken tenders the grocery store was running a special on the other day. About 15 pounds of pecans, some blueberries from last year, a few packages of bacon.....that's the most of it.

The usual store bought stuff plus alot of venison.

MB, I never heard of whiskey in the freezer, what's good with that?

MasterBlaster

It keeps it cold: alcohol doesn't freeze.

Whiskey is best served chilled in my opinion. Vodka in the freezer is wise as well.

I prefer whisky at room temperature, but ice cold Russian or Polish vodka is a treat.

20 pounds of blueberries, two deer shoulder roasts, lots of venison steaks, and ground venison, all received as payment from folks.
About 10 pounds of rice flour, several roots of ginger and 2 pounds of butter for cooking/baking.
Three pounds of gluten-free, homemade breakfast/energy bars.
Ten pounds of frozen peaches for pies on some cold day late in February when we are tired of the snow and cold.
Also there are a few packages of bratwurst and extra dark bread for our German guests.

stig

Those peaches sound real good.
Wanna trade some for plums and cherries:)

pigwot
02-13-2011, 03:57 PM
Mmmmm, cherries!
I finished off the cherries a month ago and miss them; they are definitely my favorite.
Next summer I'll put away about 40 pounds of cherries.

stig

Pity we live so far from each other.
I have some 40 cherry trees of about 20 diffrent varieties.

Unfortunately it is too cold here ( or rather, not warm enough) for apricots and peaches.

stone fruits dont do well here, not enough summer and not enough frosty days in winter, good thing is we have wonderful orchard country (http://www.hellobc.com/en-CA/SightsActivitiesEvents/Attractions/FarmsOrchards/Kelowna.htm) 3 hours drive away. :) Right Squisher? :/:
