I'm getting different weird messages when I click something. It's doesn't do anything but pop up for ten seconds or so then goes away. I know some of ya'll are getting these to. I don't know what's up but I'll let Funky know.

Here's what I get when there are no posts and I hit the "number of unread posts" link.

I get a "can't find the phrase, login" in the login prompt screen. Everything seems to be working ok.

That's what I get when I sign in except it says "login" instead of "openclose". Other than that all seems to be working ok.

I got some of those also when I tried to edit a post. I never seen anything like it on any site. All I could do was just shake my head and say OOOOKAAY what other little surprizes can we get here.

Butch, I know you will get it fixed sooner or later.

Funny though you seem to get one problem fixed and two more take it's place. Kind of like my tree biz. Never a dull moment.

Yeah, getting all kinds of funny stuff when I try to post. It's letting me post fine, but the weird messages, well, are weird!!!

my email alerts are not letting me know which threads have new posts.
The subject line is blank and there is no message.

on and off I have been getting this one:
"Could not find phrase 'searchnoresults_getnew'."

when I try to refresh the new posts button. close the browser and re-open seems to solve it for a bit.

I got this when posting. Post still appeared and all was fine.

Seems like a database glitch...

I'm just waiting for the freaking holiday to get over so I can pay the online tech to talk to me. They are a M - F 8 to 5 bunch. I was hoping to talk to them today.

MLK says that you won't talk to the 8-5 crowd today.

we should start an official 'web site problems' thread. But no complaining :)

we should start an official 'web site problems' thread. But no complaining :)

I did that several months ago but everybody else just said that it was fine and they couldn't see any problems. Now we've lost all our pictures, we have extremely private information moved into a public forum and an assinine new rule that anything over 60 days old gets deleted.

The only reason I'm so pissed off about it is because this forum is so important to me. Otherwise I'd walk away and forget about it. But my insistence that something be done is often misconstrued so therefore I must shut up, sit on my hands and watch this forum go to shit.

And I can't even delete the personal info that has been moved from the Elder's forum out into public view. :X

MasterBlaster

What personal info is that, whiney Brian? Che's thread?

And you DO know today is a holiday and you DO know I said I was gonna fix it.

Right? :what:

I have had problems posting pics for a couple months, getting weird messages on and off. I do spend a LOT of time on the comp, I just let it roll off when I get frustrated.

I am sure MB is doing what he can to get the site to co-operate technically.

currently I have tried to post this message a number of times the last couple mins and get this error:
"Could not find phrase 'postfloodcheck'."

squisher
01-21-2008, 06:21 PM
It's cause you're 'flooding' the forum with posts.:P

Paul B

MasterBlaster

"Could not find phrase 'postfloodcheck'."

Yeah, but then it disappears and your post goes through, right?

Paul B
01-21-2008, 06:27 PM
it did actually yes, wen I noticed the double post I deleted the initial one. I figure its best to note them here for Funky or your tech support reference when/if.

I've gotten the weird messages also, although not very often.

One thing that has always been a minor issue with me on this site (using two different computers running WinXP and Vista over the last couple years) is that about one time out of 5 the page will hang up for 30 seconds before fully loading. The one item that seems to hang up is the paypal image at the bottom of the page. This is an issue only because I will open the page, begin reading and scrolling down, and when the page finally finishes loading 30 seconds later it jerks back up to the original starting point.

I am not mentioning this to whine. I'm only mentioning this as someplace to begin looking in order to find the original problem with the database. This issue has been around for as long as this site has been on vBulletin (or shortly thereafter).
