View Full Version : dingo
im looking at a toro tx 413 with a little over 800 hours on it, and a recently replaced engine. comes with standard bucket, trencher, forks and a leveler. the trencher looks well worn and will need the hoses replaced but every thing else looks to be in good shape. thoughts on what this is worth? i have a number from the guy but want some opinions before i tell it. i cant really dump the money till spring but have a friend who may.

I just did a search and found, "i have used the dingo 413 (tracked) and the lift height was way too low." Check how high it lifts when you look at it again.
ive rented them, its just high enough. id like it to be higher but its enough

Im guessing the tx is a tracked unit?
Diesel or gas?
I bought my Dingo 222 (wheeled) with over 1000 hours on it for 4k about 3 years ago. It came only with forks and a bucket.
I added a top notch grapple (2k) and replaced the motor last year (1.7K).
Ive also replaced about a grand worth of hydralic components and also put on some foam filled tires all the way around.
Ive easily got into it what I paid for it, but it was all money well spent.
If you dont mind me asking........ what is he asking?

The lift height is not the greatest, but it works. They are better suited forwarding devices rather than loading devices. But mine will lift logs into the back of my f700 without a problem.
tracks, 13 hp gas. i want some ideas on prices (what you all think its worth first)ill tell you tommorrow what hes asking
i got a bmg already and it loads logs into my truck also, the bucket almost fully dumps with out picking up the front end

Too bad my Prowler isn't on the West Coast. I have it for sale. Lifts more and higher than the Dingo. The Toro website shows the 413 with a hinge pin height of only 48" vs 65" for the other Toro track models. The Prowler has a hinge pin height of 75".

Very good for machine and those attachments. A new trencher alone is over $4K. The pallet forks are about $550. It looks like it may need new tracks soon. Tracks will run about $600 for a pair.
my buddys gonna keep it for a while anyway, i told him id give him 7k in 6 months for it. thats nearly 8 percent so hes thinking about it. not the machine id like but i wont complain!

I would not go that route, but I live on the east side of the Mississippi; I don't know what the market is like over there.
I prefer tires over tracks, a used Dingo is the way I'd go.
it is used dingo. ive never ran a wheeled mini but after talking to you guys id rather that also. theres a couple used ramrods local but theyre spendy and like john said
Any mini is better then no mini :D

I meant a 322 or something similar.
That one looks a bit on the small side.
I waited for a few months until I found my sweetheart of a deal. It's similar to a woman, don't settle, wait until the cards are in your favor.

Heh Willie I've been eyeing up a couple of ramrods in your locale, just wish the dammed border wasn't in the way.

I think that Ramrod that I put the link to is a good deal even at that price. With those hours it's basically new. As far as you storing it for me hmmmm, maybe :D .
the only thing i dont like is its 45" wide. i want a less than 36" model

Willie on Ramrod's website they say the 950wheeled loader is 32" wide I think on the link I provided they are talking about(for whatever reason) the width of the bucket instead of the machine alone. The 950 is the model of choice imo.
well in that case! i think those are 18k so with that low of hoursthats a smokin deal! just cant pull it off yet!

I could pull it off but methinks I should be pulling off a new chipper first. I would sure love to get my hands on that machine though. 18k from a local dealer down there for your new price? As usual even though they are made in Canada and with our strong dollar I can't buy one up here for under 20k. Frigging ridiculous.
actually just looked at my email quote from tntree back in april a 950 with bucket was 16500.00 and shipping was 1140.45. im sure both have gone up quite a bit with the price of steel and fuel.

There's a Boise conference? Might be a decent place to meet some good people, and Darin.
Willie, for all intensive purposes, you don't want the 32".

wider has better side hill potential, but wont go through small gates. Boxer/prowler seems like the only ones with retractable tracks, I dig mine. I use the machine mostly in 42" mode, but I have to use the narrow mode at least once or twice a month. FYI, the only time I flipped my machine was in the narrow mode.........but sometimes I drive like a wild man. Need a rake for that machine?
its not mine, hes keeping for a while at least

The 32" machine also uses 4" wide tires (lawn destroyer), with a different hub/wheel combo used as compared to the standard unit.
I've rolled mine 4 times now. Twice on flat ground (same day, unloading or loading the trailer going up or down the ramps), once I turtled it over (nearly on myself) into a mostly drained lake bed, and this last time down a hella steep hill.
Thus far the only damage is a couple dents in the muffler.

Wow LJ, I never even came close to rolling my Gehl or Prowler. And to think I let you drive my Gehl for nearly 8 hours.

The lake bit was sheer stupidty on my part, the job that was bid to take 5 hours, it was looking like it was going to get wrapped up in under 3.... it got over that.
Twice on the trailer thing, the ramps were short, the load was large and it was a bad day (apparently).
The hill day was fairly understandable, and I was making 2x my 2 man hourly rate, working alone.

On the trailer did you roll it end over end. You need to be careful, or pretty soon they are gonna revoke your mini license.

Naw, just laid it on it's side.
I have done a "stoppie", went flying clear over the machine, landed straddling the grapples bracket (thank God I'm tall and again because I didn't land on the bollards pin). The grapple wasn't pinned on apparently, that was interesting.
The lake bed time, it went over it's back, then over to its side. The oil reservoir cap came off, dumping 9 gallons of oil. oops.
