That was great, and pretty comprehensive. Boy, they had some HPs in that yarder by the sound of it. Ole Len Wheeler is quite the sawyer.

Big yarder for that second growth, but it could sure pull a good turn of logs all at once.

Probably one the best off the hip logging shorts I've ever seen, next to "Spar Pole". No staging at all.

I was pretty impressed by the vids is why I posted them... Seemed more real world to how I remember the guys up in BC... The ol faller was really cool.. I loved the story about the old choker too LOL.

Did anybody in the House ever watch "The Carnival Boat" (http://www.spout.com/films/53381/default.aspx) with Ginger Rogers and Bill Boyd? The setting was real day hand chopping and steam yarding in the Sierra's, Big Pine and Fir. It was a Hollywood movie, but in a real logging camp. The train wreck at the end was awesome.

Sounds awful familiar Gerry.. I will have to look that movie up. They filmed a lot of those kinds of movies up here. Wonder if they did that one too.
