Well, somehow I was dumb enough to offer a guy on another forum $600 plus shipping for a 372XP with a claimed 3 hours of run time. He was contemplating selling it and was asking what we thought it might be worth. Well, he took me up on my offer so now I feel obligated to buy it even though I already have four, including one brand new.

Since I'm not really in a financial position to buy this saw right now, would anybody else here want it? I think it's a good deal since I paid over $700 for my last one a few months ago. If money wasn't so tight I'd gladly keep it but right now I'm borrowing money to keep my monthly expenses covered.

So if anyone here is in the market for a new 372, maybe you could bail me out on this deal so I can still save face. And it's still one of the best saws on the planet.

Hell Brian, it is a good deal. Which means he'll be able to sell it no problem. Let him know after doing your books you discovered that at this point in time the purchase will put you in a bind. If he is a good fella then he will have no issues.

I don't want to lie, and I did offer to buy it. I'm trying to figure out how to honor my promise, not how to fib my way out of it.

Here's the thread if anybody cares to follow along.

Sorry, I'd like to put it on the Jap Yahoo auction site and get your money back. Saws are way pricey here, unless you know the black market route. Unfortunately, since the USPS stopped surface shipping, getting saws here really costs, then the turds in customs now charge sales tax.

Here's a little tip, get ones that are all the same color, and don't keep them all in one place at the same time. Wives tend to not be observant of the accumulating numbers that way, unless you have to start keeping them in the bedroom too.

re: Squisher The Forestry Forum actually is set up to be very search engine friendly, and ranks very high in searches. If the Forum helps you sell something, it's only fair to give it a cut. It takes a lot to keep it up and running. Most online advertising sites charge 10% to sell your stuff for you.

I wouldn't worry too much about that damned saw . You explained the situation and things do come up at times we have no way of changing .

That aside I've not heard good things regarding that ice storm situation in Ky . I have no doubt a lot of people are going to be out some money .:what:

I was told that just a permit to work in Paducah was $150 plus a fee for each in the crew . Sounds like they weren't too interested in "outside " help to me .

No need to be. There are at least two other Sepes in the tree biz in RI and southern NE, Northeastern Tree being one of them. They bid on my big removal contract last spring, and won it ($600,000+) then they couldn't get bonded to do it:|: Not a big deal, 'cept they kept saying they could get it, which delayed my removal contract even longer. Still not a huge deal...until they started accusing me of being in bed with the next contractor in line for the job.:X

I was also put off by the fact that they asked if I would pay them to "trim" trees and then remove them afterwards, which basically amounts to them not being able to get trees down for what they bid them at, which is also illegal.....He also kept saying that his dad was having dinner with our Mayor, one phone call proved that to be a total fabrication.
