OK just wondering if it is posible to put locking brummels on either end of 8mm beeline AND heres the tricky part have hardware captive at both ends??
What Im trying to do is make a safety lanyard with a gibbs style ascender on one end and a captive eye biner on the other end. Easy to do just one captive but both Im having trouble with....................

It's possible, but it's not easy. Unless you can spread the braid far enough for the hardware to go through the braid, you have to unbraid and rebraid the line around itself.

I'm sure it is possible, you may have to shoogle the braid around the eye though. beeline was quite loose the last time i spliced it so it may be posible

I believe it's the Scottish form of "finagle", technically speaking, of course. :D

Well you will all be happy to hear after much smoogling and finagling I was finally able to cram a Kong Trango through the Bline core and get a splice. I must say this site is full of technical gurus:lol:

from the definition page
To give something a 'Shoogle' is to give it a little nudge or a shake. For example:
"Don't shoogle the ladder!" and "Give me a shoogle if I fall asleep"

can you post a pic of the piece you fit through? That's awesome!
I woulda taken the "unweave then reweave" route, m'self.
Or a non-locking splice?
But sounds like what you did worked just fine.
