We watch a lot of FoodTV, they have many shows with 'travelling' hosts that go to certain places in certain towns. I am starting a list of places I wanna go to.

No particular order:
Carnegie Deli (new york or vegas), http://www.carnegiedeli.com/
Keegans grill: Tampa area, http://www.keegansseafood.com/
the bbq shack, Paola, Kansas, http://www.thebbqshack.com/

Anyone have any other must visit places?

The Heart Attack Grill, if for nothing more than his "fuck the PCness" attitude.

I also want to go to a southern style place for real blackened catfish. I have had it a few times but I bet the authentic stuff is just a smidge better. :)

shoot, you reminded me LJ, I would surely like to go there (heart attack grill) also !

Quizno's; This place is not worth mentioning, but I am hooked on "sammies". A little flat bread sandwich that is 200-300 calories, I think I am addicted. (I am trying to loose some weight)

Aberdeen Barn is still kicking on Northampton Blvd in Va. Beach. Oh no ,say it isn't so . Good heavens Nicks was a national treasure:whine:

Oh maybe it's still there ,Lighthouse Va. Beach Va .

Ruth's seafood ,Ft Wayne Ind . They fly it in daily .Best crab cakes I've had since leaving the Tidewater area of Va .Damned costly though .Kinda tough getting good seafood in the middle of cattle / hog country and cornfields .

You're going to Kansas for bbq? Just go a state or two futher and you can be in Texas and get the real stuff.

And, you should put all of Louisiana on your list.

One of the best meals I ever had was at the Red Lobster in Santa Rosa, CA.

We like red lobster, we hit one in Calgary a couple years ago. a good feast for like $25 per person. We both find it weird that one province to the west (ours, BC) which actually has ocean front, there are no red lobster outlets...

About 30 miles south of NY city - it is a great place with sliced potatoes and steamed veggies and that pot dish with all the fish, clams, mussles - on the corner of wood ave and 11th.

easy to find - just off route 1 north

I went to a "Legal Sea Food" place in Boston a few years back. Their slogan was," If it ain't fresh it ain't legal" Got to say it was a darn good meal. I ordered the Lobster. A treat for us Cali boys.

Having spent a few years on the east coast I got used to real seafood .Once you acquire the taste everything else pales by comparrison .

You can't find good seafood in the middle of a midwestern corn field for sure ,pretty good beef though .;)

I can't agree more with ya Al. Lived in MA for 8 years and I got spoiled. When I moved to AZ we used to call fresh seafood desert denial.. LOL

For those who can get there try Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon Pennsylvania. I think there are some other places. I tend to gravitate to the original though. Best wings in the U.S. I have eaten there for years.

Quaker Steak is good, but I still prefer eating from a more local chain, when I'm in Oh. I prefer going to the Winking Lizard(Canton). I love their Spicy Garlic, or if adventerous, the 911.

I love a good meal of wings, and Abita's Purple Haze or Great Lakes Brewing CO's Dortmunder Gold, followed by ample amounts of the beer special of the day.
