I am in no way a vegetarian or a vegan... I am still a carnivore. :)
However... my girlfriend has got me hooked on these veggie sammiches. I made this one to take to her for lunch at work. I have an evening shift tonight, so i usually drop off a little somethin' for her to snack on. I guess the cheese on there makes it not a true "veggie"... but oh well...
Oh yeah... she's a carnivore too... :)
But these sammiches are pretty good! :|:

Agreed. But Butch, you haven't seen how slim the G man is these days. He prolly goes a buck fitty at the most.
My daily turkey sammich is two pieces of whole wheat, a slice of pepper jack....and a full half pound of sliced turkey. You could say I'm a big eater...:/:
Does look appetizing Gary. I may have to add some jalepenos to my sammich today to get some "veggies" on there myself.

Nice summer food Gary. Looks great, but try it with a real strong blue cheese like Roquefort or stilton - YUM YUM!

It's spelled "sammich" for a reason. The M is for MEAT and the second M is for MORE MEAT. Without meat it isn't a sammich!

Butch- next time i see an avocado tree with some good fruit on it, I'll pick a couple and send them down your way. I'm sure some folks up here can recommend a great guac recipe.
I hated guacamole when I was little, but now I love it.

Butch, if you have a favorite salsa, guac is easy peasy...peel a couple of nice sized ones that are just beginning to give under a squeeze in your whole hand, toss the pit, duh.
Put 'em in a bowl, an add a tablespoon or less as you like it of lemon or lime juice. Add maybe 1/2 to 1 cup salsa, to taste, and mash the whole mess up to a chunky texture.
Done. Dip with chips, spoon over any Tex-Mex entre, add over your omlette, toss with a salad, on a burger...endless options.

I add sour cream to my guac. fresh onions and tomatoes, and sometimes black olives.

I like guac, I dont like straight avocado. bleaugh.
on the veggie talk, I tried the veggie burger at burger king last week, not bad, a little slim on the pattie but taste etc was pretty good considering its something other than flesh.
try a little salt on your avacado paul, makes all the difference in the world!

A little salt and pepper, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice... my fave for just eatin' straight avocado.
